Policy Ideas for Competitiveness

MPPA makes policy recommendations in four focused areas: tax policy, environmental policy, forest resources, and energy policy. We ask Maine’s policy makers to support the following:

• Promote a tax policy that supports manufacturing interests.
• Ensure Maine’s forest resource is used in the highest and best manner possible. Promote the responsible and sustainable management of Maine’s forestlands and the recognition of these management practices through third party certification.
• Promote environmental policies that are science-based and cost effective.
• Promote energy policies that reduce energy costs for Maine’s manufacturing sector.
