Maine Pulp and Paper Association member paper companies produce world class products that Maine people and people around the world use everyday of their lives. MPPA companies produce some of the world’s highest quality pulp and paper grades right here in Maine. And, paper industry employees are proud of the products they produce. Generations of families have made their livelihoods by working for Maine’s paper industry. High wages have provided a better way of life for industry employees and their families. MPPA member paper companies have 38 paper machines producing approximately 10,883 tons of paper, 1,426 tons of groundwood pulp, 120 tons of refiner groundwood pulp, 4,025 tons of kraft pulp, 94 tons of TMP pulp, 350 tons recycled pulp and 450 tons sulfite pulp per day.
